2000

2000 was the year of the dotcom collapse, resulting in huge losses for legions of investors.

Chris started Wildbit as a web design shop serving clients mostly in Philadelphia.

After putting word out on a newsgroup (remember those?) Chris partnered with a developer in Romania, starting our foray into remote teams.

2004

Facebook launched in 2004, though at the time it was only open to college students and was called “The Facebook”.

Launch of first product Newsberry — an email marketing service.

2005

YouTube is founded and comes online February 15, 2005.

Wildbit publishes a report on design for Social Networks through its work on Philly2night.com, starting a speciality in building community sites.

2007

Apple introduces the iPhone to the public at the January 9, 2007 Macworld Conference & Expo.

Client launch of Nuzizo.com, first full scale social network.

First Wildbit retreat in Cyprus.

Client launch of Podcast People, a SaaS product for self-publishing podcasts.

Product launch of Beanstalk.

2008

The first phone with Google Android 1.0 was released on September 23, 2008.

Second company retreat in Turkey.

Client launch of MeetPips, a Forex trading community site.

2010

Apple introduces the iPad on January 27, 2010.

Product launch of Postmark.

2011

The first Chromebooks with Chrome OS begin shipping on June 15, 2011.

First official office in Philadelphia as well as first employee under the same roof.

Shut down our first product, Newsberry.

2012

Google announces Google Glass on April 5, 2012.

Wildbit retreat in Palma de Mallorca.

2013

Elon Musk announces “hyperloop” — a giant, pneumatic tube transport system.

Started a tradition of family portraits for 1 year anniversaries.

Launched our third product, dploy.io.

2014

Coolest Cooler starts Kickstarter campaign, making it the most funded project ever.

Added the most new team members in a single year (6!).

During our retreat we defined our values for the first time as a team. Including a favorite, don’t be an asshole.

2015

Microsoft launches Windows 10 in July.

We ditched our office and all worked remotely for a bit.

We moved into our new office after a 6 month build-out.

At the Philadelphia retreat, we defined success in each role at the company.

Rebranded dploy.io as DeployBot and launched Build Tools.

2016

Company retreat in sunny Florida and Disney World.

2017

Announced our fourth product, Conveyor.

Company retreat in Florida and Universal Orlando.

Wildbit started working 4-days work week.

DeployBot got a new home.

2018

Company retreat in Texas.

Philadelphia Business Journal: Best Places to Work.

2019

Public launch of Conveyor.

Wildbit’s 14th retreat in Stowe, Vermont.

2020

The first year of COVID-19.

Launched DMARC Digests.

We decided to find Conveyor a new home.

Wildbit turns 20 🎉

2021

Wildbit is in the news (a lot) about the 4-day workweek.

We close the year with 12 new team members.

2022

We found Postmark and DMARC Digests a new home.
