Hello, world! My name is Anna, and I’m the new Head of Deliverability for Postmark. You might be wondering, “How does one become an email deliverability professional?”, but to be honest I’m often asking myself the same thing.
Long story short, I’m originally from Georgia, living in Atlanta most of my adult life. After years of working in tech support for a different email service provider, I developed an interest in how a message actually sends and delivers, eventually helping expand and train up a thriving deliverability team. Soon I was offered work for another ESP in Poland, and as much as I loved Atlanta, I wasn’t sure I’d ever get a better chance to explore the world. Always say “yes” to adventure!
One thing I’ve learned is that deliverability often gets ignored. When a problem inevitably arises, people are desperate for someone to quickly mitigate those long-neglected deliverability issues. I’ve spent years putting out fires like this, a reassuring figure behind that magical curtain.
But I’m not a wizard, and I don’t think I’m cut out to be a fireman. That’s why I’m so happy I found Wildbit (or maybe, we found each other?? ❤ ).
Postmark likely has the best and most consistent deliverability I’ve ever seen, and I have to admit it’s pretty intimidating. The standards here are so damn high, which makes my work far more challenging but definitely more rewarding. Instead of spending all day reacting to issues, my focus is to optimize and monitor things proactively while educating our customers and the Postmark team to be even better at what we do. All that plus my kickass new coworkers and moving to bustling Philadelphia, I couldn’t be more excited to finally be here!
But enough about work — my Clark Kent persona is all about my two trash-cats who’ve traveled with me all over the world. We love picnics, bourbon... and did I mention traveling? Most weekends you’ll find me in another new city, eating vegan burgers, and wearing those same old boots (they’ve got at least 10 more years in ‘em!).
