My name is Dave Martin. I’m a product designer who’s passionate about user-focused growth (but not growth hacking! Yuk!). I'm a fan of leveraging data to make smart decisions, making quick iterative improvements, and never stopping at "good enough."
I’m thrilled to join the Wildbit family! I’ll be working with the Postmark team to help users get more value out of our product.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve been blessed to work for a number of great companies including Help Scout, Automattic, and Campaign Monitor. I’ve learned a great deal about designing magical user experiences from each of these companies.
Outside of work, my life revolves around my family. My wife and I have three rambunctious kids ages 3, 5 and 9. We love spending time together. We eat gluten and dairy free at home, and we’re actively involved with church and our kids summer swim team.
I love to read, watch T.V. shows (which in my opinion are better than most movies these days), play board games, and work on side projects. Side projects are how I tend to learn best, so you’ll always find me tinkering with something.
I studied Chemistry in college. My plan was actually to become a chiropractor. Looking back, I never really wanted to be a chiropractor. It just seemed like a respectable profession. My goal was to have a job that I could work 3 days a week (to pay the bills) leaving 2 days a week for me to play with web stuff on the side.
Luckily, it didn’t take me long to discover that my passion for the web didn’t have to remain a hobby. I left school with two semesters remaining to join a startup, and I’ve worked for small companies ever since!
