Hi wtrevino,

Selenium is also a great free tool for automated testing. We don't use it yet, since it can be hard to use it in agile enviroment.

Sometimes it can take more time to rewrite the test cases in Selenium, than to test the new functionality. Of course, there are benefits by using Selenium, when test cases are well written and updated regularly. We intend to use it in near future.

Having virtual machines sure do help when it comes to cross-browser/cross-platform testing and but I definitely prefer using Selenium / Selenium RC.

BTW I Don't want to go all Richard Sallman on this but I don't think vmware server would qualify as free, I think the correct term would be freeware while VirtualBox would be free software/open source.

VirtualBox is great, and far better than Virtual Pc. The good thing about VirtualPC is that you can use free trial images.

Other than that, there are better vm solutions.

I love VirtualBox for my virtual machine needs. Works great on Ubuntu, and somehow feels better than vmware server (both are free options).
