We just recently launched an invite process for Nuzizo that allows importing contacts from sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail, Yahoo, and so on. We designed a really nice wizard for the process, but assumed the implementation would be difficult, until we stumbled on Octazen’s import tool.

Octazen makes a really nice tool in .NET, Java, and PHP (we used the .NET version) that will easily grab contacts from a huge list of social networks and web-mail applications. So far it is working very well, so I can recommend it to anyone else who might need to import contacts from a popular service. Here are some screen shots from our invite process.

Wow! I never knew this before.

I thought that this feature was provided by the respective email providers APIs. This is a paid service so most opensource deployment won’t have this feature inbuilt. Hope someone comes with an Free alternative.
